How we have left our mark on the landscape in more recent times. Unlike standing stones, the function of these recent monuments is not always obscure. We know the history. But that doesn't stop them being enigmatic, incongruous, surprising.

Often, they are decaying back into the landscape, acquiring the same sense of mystery and forgotten purpose that characterises ancient stone monuments. They feel like ceremonial spaces, or markers of lost rituals.

This has developed into a joint project with artist Doug Selway who has produced a number of amazing panoramic images of Orford Ness and other abandoned wartime sites in the UK.
